The research aimed to explore the shared and unique experiences of lone and isolated workers in the West Highlands and Skye and to identify the strategies, characteristics, attributes and/or resources that protects a lone worker’s mental health and well-being. Findings from interviews with lone workers in the West Highlands and Skye and their employers fall into a variety of themes, which are broadly categorised in this report as Rural Fit and the Physical and Social Environment.
